How to choose Bluetooth Headsets?

Do you have doubts and questions? Since we have been responding to the pressing questions of our clients and colleagues for years, we decided to write a guide for you that should dispel most doubts and provide you with interesting information. By answering a few simple questions you should know the category of products that will meet your needs and needs. If we have not exhausted your curiosity, call us boldly!

If there were identical headset with cable and without cable, the answer would seem obvious, because why bother with the cable ?! If … Unfortunately all the time the technology of wireless headphones leaves much to be desired, and for good quality you have to pay dearly. Why?

Wireless headphones are divided into two main types, based on bluetooth technology and radio waves. The first one is generally weak. In addition, the vast majority of manufacturers are forced to convert files before transferring to headphones where they are unpacked. This causes significant loss and dislocation between the original and what we hear. The second method is not all that better. Sending a radio wave is associated with noise and noise. To use this technology you need a transmitter, and additional signal strength aggravates bandwidth and sound quality. However, there is hope for wireless solutions. If we are near the transmitter and our location is not very disturbed, then the radio wave technology should be very well advised. The second chance is development. We need a very good DAC (Digital Audio Converter) that has no big loss when changing digital recording to audio. For this device that is able to quickly carry large amounts of data so that you do not have to compress the files. If something like this is going to happen, you will know right down to the bottom of our Newsletter.

If you need a headset to talk, then wireless headphones will be the perfect solution. If, however, we care about always impeccable purity, we should put on wired headphones.

Headphones or earphones?

A lot of people interested in music solves this problem in a very simple way – they have both types 🙂 But this is not the answer, so let’s analyze the main advantages and disadvantages.

Health: There is a conviction that in-ear earphones, and in particular intrathecal earphones are not healthy for our ears. The key parameter here is the sensitivity, the detailed description of which is below.

Mute: If we want to mute, we can get the desired effect on both headphones. In the case of earphones, we have to seal the auditory canal, which is a bit uncomfortable for many users. It is best to buy equipment that has different sizes of foams and tips, which will allow us to choose something for ourselves. This problem is not with headphones. We can choose between models that cover the ear in different ways. If, for example, we do not like ear contacts with earphones at all, these are round earphones. Let’s keep in mind that silence is not always desirable. For example, while cycling, talking over Skype (hear yourself well, otherwise we feel weird).

Aesthetics: Let’s be honest, wax in the ear we will not avoid washing your ears even 3 times a day after every meal 🙂 If someone is not able to accept human nature (which is fully understood), then buy the earphones and throw away the memory of the last Two sentences. On the other hand, not all earmuffs will fit into a ball gown or a suit. That is why most people who are not able to part with music for a long time have at least two types of good headphones.

Other arguments: Earphones certainly give you much more power in your own style. Earphones better fit under the cap. Earphones cover their ears against the cold. Earphones are easier to store, earphones less messy. Earphones in less tempting thief, but easier to lose them. Earphones are definitely less emergency. One could argue for a long time on both sides.

What parameters to pay special attention?

Frequency range.

Probably the most important issue is the frequency response, which is the frequency supported by the hardware. Of course the bigger the scale, the better. Really good handsets should handle frequencies from 20 Hz to 20000 Hz (20 kHz) because it is the range of human audible frequencies. It is very rare for someone to hear other frequencies. If you are one of those lucky ones, then you can bet on audio equipment. Such handsets can descend at 5 Hz – 45 kHz. If you have a dolphin or other shark in the aquarium, you will be happy 🙂

Warning! You should not use “tests” from the Internet to examine your hearing, and more so rely on them. First of all, the hardware you are testing the sound does not support such frequencies since you’re reading this article, and secondly it’s data from the Internet, so they have to be processed by different devices to change into sound, which is not always the advantage of servers running. Large-scale. There may be some interesting downloadable programs for your computer, but we did not find one. It is a good idea to visit a doctor.

Impedance (Ω).

Occurs in alternating current circuits and shows how much power you need to deliver to your earphones to play as the manufacturer expects. If you do not know how good it is for quality listening, it is very good because it does not matter much. The greater the omega Ω, the more equipment will play quieter than identical headphones with less omega. On the other hand, the greater the parameter, the greater the noise resistance.

Sensitivity.

In other words, the sound pressure level is commonly called loudness. According to the EU, the recommended maximum value is 85 dB (decibels), but nowhere outside the EU it is 96 dB. In fact, all handsets exceed these recommendations. Why? To a large extent, because the average consumer choosing electronics is looking at the ground floor as “the better the better.” Manufacturers for the rule outperform in this parameter, although the equipment rarely plays at such a level. And again, why? Because some of the pressure escapes sideways, and headphones that play continuously at high pressure would be tiring for longer periods of time. It is also a rule when listening to music. If you feel your hearing is tiring, stop listening immediately or reduce the volume significantly! Headphones while pressing down on the ear and knocking on the equipment increase the acoustic pressure more significantly than earphones that have more space to reduce instantaneous air stress. To sum up, earphones are healthier, but let’s be wary of overly loud music. Who knows how great music will soon be created? It would be a pity to lose the opportunity to listen to it.

Connector.

The standard jack is 3.5 mm. There are devices that are not compatible with each other despite the same size of connectors, but we have not encountered a situation where there would not be a simple adapter to solve the problem.

Microphone.

If you are listening to music on your phone, it will be a silly microphone in the headphones. One click on the cable and move to the conversation. Most applications on the talk-back automatically return to music or radio. The microphone will especially appreciate your hand when you walk on -20 degrees. The overloaded tram also is not the easiest place to talk without headphones. Especially when you hold a handrail with one hand and the other holds a bag / backpack / briefcase.
